Sheffield United, Burton Albion match postponed

Sheffield United announce that Saturday's Championship fixture with Burton Albion has been postponed due to the adverse weather conditions.

Sheffield United have announced that Saturday's encounter with Burton Albion has been postponed.

The adverse weather conditions across the United Kingdom is leading to a number of sporting events being cancelled, and the Blades have moved to remove any doubt over their Championship fixture with Burton with 48 hours' notice.

The Yorkshire outfit have said that while the pitch could be prepared for the visit of the Brewers, concerns over safety in the stands is the primary reason for a quick decision.

The second-tier game is not the only EFL fixture to fall by the wayside, with a total of four matches being cancelled in League One and League Two.

Bradford City's meeting with Portsmouth, Gillingham's clash with Rotherham United and Oxford United's game with Fleetwood Town have all been called off in League One.

In the fourth tier, Newport County's fixture with Accrington Stanley will not take place as scheduled.
