Alex Teixeira welcomes Chelsea interest

Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira has claimed that he is "very happy" that Chelsea are said to be interested in his signature.

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month, although it is not clear whether the Premier League outfit have launched a bid thus far this month.

The Brazilian, however, has revealed that he would be interested in moving to England as he bids to secure a regular spot for his national team.

"Chelsea? I'm very happy that they're interested. On my part, I do everything to continue improving. I want to be part of the Brazilian national team, so I may have to switch clubs," Teixeira told O Globo.

Teixeira has scored 26 goals in 35 games for Shakhtar this season, including four times in the Champions League.
