Report: Sevilla failed with late Federico Fazio bid

Sevilla reportedly failed in a late bid to bring Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio back to the Estadio Ramon this summer.

The 28-year-old moved to the Premier League last summer off the back of a strong 2013-14 campaign for Sevilla, but the centre-back has struggled to make his mark in London.

According to Diario de Sevilla, the outfit attempted to re-sign the Argentine on Monday evening before the Spanish transfer window slammed shut, but the two clubs could not agree on a deal.

The same report claims that the move was "millimetres away" from being completed.

Fazio has not yet featured for Spurs in the Premier League this season.
