Kevin Gameiro facing spell on sidelines

Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro suffers an abductor injury during his side's 1-0 defeat to Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an abductor injury in his side's 1-0 defeat to Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.

The Frenchman, who arrived at the Spanish outfit from Paris-Saint Germain in the summer, was forced off in the latter stages of the league fixture.

It had initially been thought that he would return to training this week, but tests will be undertaken this afternoon to determine the extent of the injury.

Reports in Spain have claimed that Gameiro could be out of action for the next two weeks.
