Manuel Neuer: 'Scotland match will be difficult after Georgia defeat'

Manuel Neuer: 'Scotland match difficult'

Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has suggested that his international teammates will have to be wary against Scotland, after their 1-0 defeat to Georgia on Friday.

The 29-year-old Bayern Munich keeper believes that Gordon Strachan's side will be hoping to "make amends" after their loss in Tbilisi, which saw the team drop to fourth in their Euro 2016 qualifying group.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of tonight's fixture, Neuer said: "Although Scotland are bitterly disappointed right now they will be like a boxer who has taken a couple of knocks and will desperately want to show their public they can do better.

"Will this change their tactics against us? I don't think so. They will continue to sit rather deep and try to score on the counter.

"We have to score our goals and defend our goal but Scotland did play really well against us in Dortmund."

Scotland will take on Poland and Gibraltar in their final Euro 2016 qualifying fixtures in October.
