Schalke 04 wait on Raul

Schalke 04 CEO Clemens Tonnies has stated that the German club are awaiting Raul's response in relation to a contract extension.

Raul, 34, has been a key player for the club since arriving in 2010, but with his current deal expiring in the summer, there have been suggestions that he could depart the Bundesliga outfit.

"We have made him a really good offer, and I believe that the lack of progress is not about salary, but the length of the contract. Now it is up to him to decide," Tonnies told Sport1.

Raul is understood to want a two-year deal, but Schalke have offered him an extension until 2013.
