Klaas-Jan Huntelaar could return for the trip to Galatasaray after an eye specialist gives him the green light.

Schalke 04 striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar could return to the squad to face Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday night, the club has confirmed.

Huntelaar has been out of action for the last two weeks after suffering a blood clot on his eye, but his potential return is a boost for coach Jens Keller.

After an investigation on Monday eye specialist Jorg Schmidt revealed that Huntelaar could travel to Galatasaray after returning to training, the club's website said.

Huntelaar has missed the last two Bundesliga clashes; the 4-0 away defeat to Bayern Munich and Saturday's 2-2 draw at Mainz 05.
