Neil Redfearn appointed Rotherham manager

Rotherham United have announced that they have appointed Neil Redfearn as their new manager.

The former Leeds United boss succeeds Steve Evans, who left the Yorkshire club at the end of September.

Redfearn, who had been out of work since leaving Leeds in the summer, has agreed a deal with the Millers that will keep him at the New York Stadium until 2018.

"Rotherham United are delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Redfearn as the club's first-team manager," a statement on the club's official website read.

"Redfearn came out on top after a meticulous selection process where he impressed chairman Tony Stewart and the Board of Directors with his vision for the future of the club."

Redfearn's first game in charge will be the Championship clash at Brentford on October 17.
