Roma sign Mattia Destro from Genoa

Roma have confirmed that they have completed the signing of young striker Mattia Destro from Genoa.

Destro will move to the Italian capital for an initial 12-month loan period with a view to a permanent transfer.

The Italy under-21 international was in fine form for Siena last season, scoring 12 Serie A goals and earning a place in the provisional Italy squad for Euro 2012.

Roma have been desperately searching for a striker since selling Fabio Borini to Liverpool earlier this summer.
