Report: Mehdi Benatia price set at £50m

Roma are reportedly prepared to sell Mehdi Benatia this summer, providing interested clubs part with £50m for the Moroccan centre-back.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been strongly linked with the defender this summer, with the Premier League pair believed to have made subtle enquiries.

According to The Express, Roma have informed interested parties that the price is £50m – a figure that neither club is prepared to pay.

United in particular are in the market for at least one new centre-back before the transfer window closes at the start of September.
