Michel Bastos close to agreeing Roma switch

Roma boss Rudi Garcia has confirmed that the club are close to agreeing a deal to sign 10-time Brazil international Michel Bastos from Al Ain.

Former Lyon winger Bastos had been strongly linked with a move to Napoli, but Roma now appear poised to beat their Serie A rivals to the 30-year-old's signature.

"It's not done yet, but negotiations are at an advanced stage," Garcia told reporters.

It is believed that Bastos will move to the Stadio Olimpico on loan until the end of the European season.
