Preview: Genoa vs. Roma

Roma make the trip to Genoa on Sunday having suffered setbacks in domestic and European action over the past seven days.

Rudi Garcia's side could only draw 2-2 with Sassuolo last weekend before they were dumped out of the Champions League after losing 2-0 at home to Manchester City.

Those results have extended a run that has seen Roma struggle since the end of October with just three wins coming in eight games.

Kevin Strootman could be pushing for a recall after missing out in midweek but Daniele De Rossi will be absent through suspension.

Genoa's triumph over AC Milan last weekend moved them up to third place in the table while extending their unbeaten streak in the league to nine games

The goals of Alessandro Matri have proven key, with the 30-year-old, who is on loan from Milan, netting six times in 12 matches.

Barring any late fitness issues, manager Gian Piero Gasperini is unlikely to make any changes to his starting lineup.
