Preview: Cesena vs. Roma

Cesena vs. Roma

Roma travel to Dino Manuzzi to play Cesena on Sunday evening at the end of a week that has seen their chances of silverware this season almost certainly disappear.

Successive home defeats to Sampdoria and Fiorentina respectively have left Roma trailing Serie A leaders Juventus by 14 points as well as seeing them eliminated from the Europa League.

The club also face a scrap to secure a Champions League spot with five teams all within five points of second place, and boss Rudi Garcia is facing a testing few weeks at the Stadio Olimpico.

Garcia will be without the suspended Seydou Keita, but goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis is expected to return, while Ashley Cole and Francesco Totti could also be handed recalls to the starting lineup.

Cesena currently sit four points from safety in the Serie A table, but last week's 1-1 draw at Inter Milan has extended the club's unbeaten run to three games.

The Cavallucci Marini face a huge fight on their hands to secure their top-flight status, but last week's result at the San Siro and Roma's deteriorating form provides them with reason for optimism ahead of the weekend.

Head coach Domenico Di Carlo could name an unchanged starting lineup for the visit of the Giallorossi.

Cesena:

Recent form: LDLWDD

Possible starting lineup: Leali, Capelli, Perico, Magnusson, Krajnc, Mudingayi, De Feudis, Giorgi, Carbonero Defrel, Duric

Roma:

Form in Serie A: WDDDDL Form in all competitions: WDDDLL

Possible starting lineup: De Sanctis, Torosidis, Manolas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Holebas, De Rossi, Pjanic, Totti, Florenzi, Gervinho, Ljajic

Sports Mole says: 1-2
