Totti pleased with Roma response

Roma captain Francesco Totti has admitted that it was crucial for his team to win their Coppa Italia tie with Sampdoria.

The Giallorossi were beaten by Juventus at the weekend, but bounced back with a 1-0 win over the Blucerchiati to reach the quarter-finals of the cup.

"After the game against Juventus, it was very important to win right away, it is always the best way to restart correctly," Totti wrote on his official website.

"I am happy that we have progressed through the round in the Coppa Italia against Sampdoria, it is a competition which we value.

"And on Sunday we host Genoa in the League, they are a team to be respected, but at the same time as facing them we will be aware of our strength, and with the clear goal of three points."

Roma will host Juventus in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
