Francesco Totti laments Alessandro Del Piero departure

Roma captain Francesco Totti has admitted that Italian football will miss Alessandro Del Piero following the veteran's departure for Australia.

Del Piero, 37, ended a 19-year association with Juventus earlier this month when he joined Sydney FC.

"Without doubt Del Piero will be missed by Italian football. The important thing is I'm still here," Totti joked with reporters.

"It is going to be a little strange to play Juventus without Del Piero. I would've liked to face him again so we could retire together."

Roma travel to the Juventus Stadium to take on the Serie A leaders on Saturday.
