Vincenzo Montella admits Roma "weakness"

Catania boss Vincenzo Montella admits that he has a "weakness" for Roma.

Catania coach Vincenzo Montella has hinted that he may be tempted by the prospect of managing Roma once again.

The 37-year-old took charge of the Giallorossi after the resignation of Claudio Ranieri last year and led the team to sixth in Serie A.

However, he was relieved of his duties after the new owners appointed Luis Enrique, who has now confirmed his departure from the Stadio Olimpico.

Montella, who also spent 10 years as a player for Roma, said that he was flattered by the interest being shown in him.

"I am flattered by director Walter Sabatini's words, but I owe a great deal to Catania, the President and these fans," Montella told Sky Sport Italia. "They know I have a weakness for Roma, having a past there as a player, a coach and other ties to that city.

"In any case, it's all hypothetical. First let's see if this interest is real, then in that case I will speak to the President and make a decision together. I have a contract and intend to respect it, because I am happy here. At the moment there is nothing other than a few jokes made in public."

The former Italy international has steered Catania to an 11th-place finish this season.
