Robbie Keane insists that he wants to make the most of his "last opportunity" to compete in a major tournament with the Republic of Ireland.

Robbie Keane has called on his Republic of Ireland teammates to push for victory against Estonia in a bid to qualify for the European Championships next summer.

The 31-year-old, who now competes for MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy, thinks that it is his last chance for glory with the national side.

"This is a great opportunity for everyone." said Keane. "This may be the last opportunity for some of us and we have to grab it with both hands because we have worked so hard."

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker is hoping to avenge last year's disappointing World Cup play-off exit, after France striker Thierry Henry's infamous handball knocked them out of the tournament.

"Believe me; the players are desperate to qualify," he added. "It has been a pain in the arse not qualifying, especially the last World Cup. Having gone so close to getting to South Africa, I couldn't watch the tournament when it came around.

"We can't let this chance slip away. I've played in a World Cup and it was one of the best experiences of my life, so it would mean everything to me to play at Euro 2012."

The European clash will commence at 7.45pm tonight.
