Ireland to face Costa Rica in friendly

The Republic of Ireland have agreed to a friendly match against Costa Rica in Philadelphia on June 7.

The game will serve as a pre-World Cup warm-up for the Central American nation, who will also take on Japan in Tampa on June 2.

Ireland have additional friendlies against Turkey in Dublin on May 25, Italy at Fulham's Craven Cottage on May 31, and Portugal on June 10 in New Jersey.

Costa Rica will be England's final opponents in Group D at the World Cup finals.
