Shay Given unable to train

Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given failed to train with his teammates this morning.

The Aston Villa stopper walked around the pitch where the Irish are based at the Stadio Comunale in Borgo A Buggiano while Giovanni Trapattoni's men went through their paces.

Early indications suggest that his absence was a result of blisters rather than anything more sinister.

Ireland's first game at Euro 2012 is against Croatia on June 10.
