Philippe Montanier claims that Real Sociedad still have work to do to finish fourth in La Liga this season.

Real Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier has warned his side against taking a fourth-place finish in La Liga this season for granted.

La Real currently occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot in the table with 58 points from 33 matches following their 4-2 home win against Valencia on Sunday.

"It is a good lead but it is not definitive," he told reporters. "It's a great result against one of the big teams in the league.

"I do not know if this is the best night at Anoeta, because we have had a good season and there was the victory over Barcelona, and that in the derby, but it really has been an important win. The players have fought against a great rival with the support of the fans. It was a very nice match for the supporters of Real.

"We are now in the final sprint. The five point lead is a nice bonus, but it is not definitive. We have to keep the same attitude and concentration. We will enjoy the next two days off, but afterwards we will continue to give the same work and attitude."

Malaga are five points behind Sociedad in fifth place, while Valencia are level on points with the Andalucian club in sixth.
