Real Salt Lake have been held to a 1-1 draw by Colorado Rapids at home in the MLS Western Conference.

Rapids broke the deadlock after 37 minutes when Deshorn Brown shot home past Nick Rimando to open his scoring in Major League Soccer.

The hosts stepped up their game in the second half and restored parity nine minutes from time, Alvaro Saborio latching onto Joao Plata's pass to score from an acute angle.

The win leaves Salt Lake second in the Western Conference, while Rapids are eighth.
