Zidane addresses Pogba speculation

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insisted that he is 'happy with his players' when questioned on a possible move for Paul Pogba in the latter stages of the European transfer window.

Pogba starred for Manchester United in their 4-0 win over Chelsea last weekend. However, the midfielder admitted after the Premier League affair that his future was still uncertain.

The 26-year-old is said to still be hopeful of completing a move to the Bernabeu before the September 2 deadline.

The midfielder's brother has also reiterated the France international's desire to leave Old Trafford for the Spanish giants over the next couple of weeks.

Zidane, however, has refused to be drawn on the recent speculation, insisting that Madrid "must respect" that his fellow countryman is contracted to United.

"Paul Pogba is a Manchester United player and we must respect this. I'm happy with my players," Zidane told reporters.

Madrid will look to put a turbulent pre-season behind them when they open their 2019-20 La Liga campaign away to Celta Vigo on Saturday afternoon.
