Ricardo Rodriguez plays down Real Madrid talk

Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez has played down suggestions that he could join Real Madrid this summer.

A report has claimed that Los Blancos want to bring the Swiss international to the Bernabeu this summer to battle Marcelo for the left-back position.

However, Rodriguez has branded such talk as "just rumours" and said that he is fully concentrated on matters with his German club.

"It's nice to hear but I'm a Wolfsburg player," Rodriguez told reporters. "It's an interesting idea but they're just rumours."

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to pay in excess of £20m for the 22-year-old.
