Rennes fires hands-off warning to Madrid over Camavinga

Rennes are reportedly determined to keep hold of Eduardo Camavinga this summer, and have fired a hands-off warning to Real Madrid as they eye up a move for the teenager.

Following a number of impressive performances for Rennes during the 2019-20 campaign, Camavinga has been strongly linked with a move to Zinedine Zidane's side.

Los Blancos are thought to have identified the 17-year-old as an ideal alternative to Paul Pogba, but Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has affirmed that his side are to "remain intact" prior to next season.

Speaking to L'Equipe Chaine, Holveck said: "Our priority is to make sure that the team remains intact - a team which has demostrated the great talent it possesses during a fantastic season.

"We need to be intelligent in the transfer market so that we can improve the team and make sure it is as strong as possible so that we can fulfil our objective of getting through the qualifying round."

Paris Saint-Germain were awarded the Ligue 1 title as the season finished early amid the coronavirus pandemic, with Rennes placing third.

Camavinga registered one goal and two assists from 25 Ligue 1 matches during the 2019-20 campaign.
