Real Madrid step up pursuit of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz?

Real Madrid will reportedly intensify their pursuit of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz ahead of next summer's transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who moved to Naples from Real Betis for £25.5m in 2018, has impressed during his opening pair of campaigns at the Serie A club.

It is claimed that the player is stalling on signing a new contract at the San Paolo stadium amid interest from both Madrid and Barcelona.

According to Cadena Ser, Los Blancos are keeping a close eye on Fabian's situation and remain in 'constant contact' with the player's camp.

Napoli believe that the player's value has significantly increased since his arrival, and will therefore only consider bids starting at around £54m.

Manchester City, now looking for a David Silva replacement, have also been credited with showing an interest in Ruiz.
