Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies emerges as a transfer target for Real Madrid, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly tracking Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, with the Canada international viewed as a possible future signing for the Spanish and European champions.

The 21-year-old moved to Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018 and has established himself as one of the leading left-backs in world football during his time at Allianz Arena.

Davies has again been a vital player for the Bundesliga giants this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions, contributing two assists in the process.

Meanwhile, he has represented the club on 127 occasions, scoring five times and providing 21 assists.

Davies has won four Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal trophies and the Champions League during his time at the club, and he still has another three years left to run on his contract.

However, according to Marca, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the Canadian, with the La Liga giants keen to bring him to Bernabeu at some stage in the future.

Los Blancos have a number of options in the left-back position, with Ferland Mendy first choice, while David Alaba and Nacho can also play in that area of the field.

However, there has recently been speculation surrounding Mendy's future, with talks surrounding a potential new contract for the 27-year-old believed to have stalled.

The Frenchman was also linked with a move away from Bernabeu over the summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea both credited with an interest ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Davies has featured on eight occasions in the Bundesliga this season, in addition to making three appearances in the Champions League, but he was not involved against Viktoria Plzen last week due to a head injury.

The defender also has an impressive record for his country, making 34 appearances for the Reds, scoring 12 goals in the process.

Real Madrid had a relatively quiet summer transfer window, only bringing in Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger, but they have made a strong start to the season, winning seven of their eight La Liga matches, in addition to three of their four Champions League fixtures.

Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk saw Carlo Ancelotti's side book their spot in the knockout round of the European Cup with two games to spare.

Los Blancos are now preparing to welcome Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday afternoon, while they will also take on Elche, Sevilla, RB Leipzig and Girona before the end of the month.
