Manchester United are reportedly planning to hijack Arsenal's move for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin.
The 23-year-old Turkish international, who made just four La Liga appearances last season, has been told that he can leave the Bernabeu this summer by Real boss Jose Mourinho.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Arsenal are close to agreeing a season-long loan for Sahin but United are preparing an alternative offer.
Sahin has been capped 31 times at senior international level, scoring two goals.
