Madrid 'will move for Kane if Mbappe bid fails'

Real Madrid will reportedly switch focus to signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur if they fail to snap up Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos are expected to spend a record amount of money on new players ahead of next season after enduring a terrible campaign this time around.

Mbappe is widely considered to be Real's number on target, but there is an obvious reluctance from PSG to sell one of the hottest talents in world football.

If the Spanish giants are unable to talk their European rivals into selling, which is looking increasingly likely, El Chiringuito suggests that Kane has been lined up as a Plan B.

Real are said to have acknowledged that it may take more than £200m to sign the England international, though a player-plus-cash deal involving Gareth Bale could also be a possibility.

Strengthening up top is a priority for Zinedine Zidane as the reigning European champions failed to replace all-time leading scorer Cristiano Ronaldo last year.
