Lucas Biglia: 'I almost joined Real Madrid in August'

Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia has claimed that he came "very close" to joining Real Madrid in the summer.

According to the Argentine, he was on the verge of moving to the Bernabeu, but the two clubs could not come to an agreement.

"I was very close to signing for Real Madrid this past August. However, it was close to the close of the transfer window and a deal couldn't get done," he told reporters.

"At the moment, I'm happy with Lazio, but I want to continue growing in the future and I hope to have another opportunity."

Biglia is currently on international duty in London.
