Karim Benzema hopes for Gonzalo Higuain stay

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has revealed that he wants teammate Gonzalo Higuain to stay at the club for next season.

Despite scoring 26 goals for Madrid last term, the Argentine has been linked with a move away from the Spanish champions this summer.

"He is still a player of Madrid, he is a good player and I hope that he will stay with us," Benzema told reporters.

Los Blancos coach Jose Mourinho signed a contract extension with the Primera Division winners on Tuesday.
