Real Madrid canter to ninth straight league win

Real Madrid have made it nine league wins on the spin with a comfortable 4-0 victory away at Eibar.

Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos had already gone close by the time James Rodriguez nodded Real ahead in the 23rd minute from Cristiano Ronaldo's cross.

The Portuguese forward then got in on the act himself as he rifled a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 on the stroke of half time.

The visitors continued to pepper the Eibar goal after the interval, but it took until the 70th minute for them to find the third, when Karim Benzema slotted the ball home after a Rodriguez pass.

When Raul Albentosa handled the ball inside the area with eight minutes remaining, Ronaldo strolled up to lash home his 27th goal of the season as Real's formidable run continues.
