How Real Madrid could line up against Getafe

How Real Madrid could line up against Getafe

Real Madrid head into Thursday's La Liga encounter with Getafe looking to retain top spot in the La Liga standings.

After Barcelona's surprise draw at Celta Vigo on Saturday evening, Los Blancos took full advantage with a narrow triumph away at Espanyol.

With six matches remaining, Zinedine Zidane's team hold a two-point advantage, as well as possessing a better head-to-head record over their fierce rivals.

Ahead of welcoming Getafe to the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium, Sports Mole takes a look at how Real could line up for their next contest.

While Zidane may be against changing a winning team, the Frenchman must also take into consideration that his squad are having to play plenty of matches in quick succession.

With Ferland Mendy and Luka Modric available again after suspension, the pair could be drafted straight back into the starting lineup, resulting in Marcelo and Federico Valverde dropping down to the substitutes' bench.

Although Zidane is not short of wide options, he is unlikely to drop Eden Hazard as the Belgian looks to continue his bid to regain full sharpness.

However, Isco could be withdrawn from the starting lineup, with Hazard being moved to the right-hand side in order to accommodate the selection of Vinicius Junior.

Realistically, Zidane is unlikely to make more than three unforced changes to his team when they have put together a five-match winning streak in Spain's top flight.
