Karim Benzema thanks Zinedine Zidane for support

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has revealed that club legend Zinedine Zidane helped him to rebuild his confidence at the Bernabeu.

Benzema received widespread criticism from Real fans last season, but has won over the supporters this campaign by netting 14 goals in 23 La Liga appearances.

"The support from Zidane was key for my morale recovery," the 26-year-old France international told reporters.

Benzema has scored 62 league goals in 128 games since joining Real from Lyon in 2009.
