Gareth Bale makes home debut for Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has made his home debut for Real Madrid in the ongoing derby match against Atletico Madrid.

The Welsh winger started the clash on the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu and has been called upon by coach Carlo Ancelotti at the start of the second half.

Bale, who joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported transfer fee of £85m, had been struggling with a thigh muscle injury but has now fully recovered.

Real are currently trailing Atletico 1-0, thanks to an early goal from Diego Costa.
