Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti happy with front three

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists that changing his current front three, or formation, has not entered his mind, despite a poor run of form.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he is not considering changes to his current front three.

Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have all fallen short of their best form in recent weeks, with their struggles directly reflecting the team's drop in performance.

However, Ancelotti has vowed to continue with his three attackers and will resist the urge to alter his formation.

"While they are working well together, nothing will change because they have given so much to this team. I have total faith in them, there is no doubt at all about that. They have suffered a slump in form but not all three of them. The team hasn't been helping the forwards as much as they should," Ancelotti told reporters at a press conference.

"As I say we won't be changing our identity because it has produced results for us and it's the system that we're all comfortable with. When I make changes to the midfield, it's to give the team more balance or to inject freshness but the system, whether we're playing 4-3-3 or 4-4-2, remains the same."

Real Madrid relinquished first spot in La Liga at the weekend after losing 1-0 at Athletic Bilbao.
