Real Madrid confirms the news of Eduardo Camavinga's hamstring injury as his expected recovery timeline is revealed.

Eduardo Camavinga is reportedly set to be sidelined for 'two to three weeks' after Real Madrid confirmed that the Frenchman has suffered a hamstring injury.

Real Madrid experienced a disappointing trip to Anfield on Wednesday evening, losing 2-0 to Liverpool on matchday five of the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah both missed penalties, as goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo proved to be the difference.

To make matters worse for Real Madrid, they suffered another injury blow when Camavinga was forced off in the second period.

The France international appeared to be struggling with a hamstring problem and had to be replaced by Dani Ceballos in the 58th minute.

Real Madrid confirm Camavinga injury blow

Having assessed the Frenchman's injury, Real Madrid have now confirmed that he has suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg.

A club statement read: "After the tests carried out today on Eduardo Camavinga by the club's medical department, the player has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg. His progress will be monitored."

Camavinga has added his name to a growing injury list which includes Vinicius Junior, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Rodrygo and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Mbappe will also have to be assessed by the club's medical staff after he appeared to be struggling with some minor discomfort at Anfield.

How long will Camavinga be sidelined and what games will he miss?

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Camavinga's hamstring injury is expected to keep him out of action for two to three weeks.

Camavinga will miss league games against Getafe, Athletic Bilbao and Girona, while he is also likely to be absent for Real Madrid's next Champions League match against Atalanta BC on December 10.

If he fails to recover in two weeks, the midfielder may also be a doubt for Real Madrid's away league meeting with Rayo Vallecano on December 14.

Camavinga will hope to be available for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final on December 18 when Los Blancos will face one of Al Ahly, Pachuca or the Copa Libertadores winners.
