Karim Benzema 'could miss Euro 2016 over sex tape scandal'

France striker Karim Benzema may miss out on a place in Didier Deschamps's squad over his alleged involvement in a sex tape scandal surrounding his international teammate Mathieu Valbuena.

Benzema has been accused by Valbuena of suggesting that the latter should pay him money to stop the release of a sex tape involving Valbuena and his girlfriend, a claim which Benzema denies.

According to L'Equipe, the Real Madrid striker could be left out by Deschamps as a result of the furore, and the future of Valbuena could also be at risk.

Benzema has scored 27 goals in 81 appearances for France since his debut in 2007.
