Real Madrid lineup vs. Barcelona: Predicted XI for Los Blancos in El Clasico

Guler's time to shine? How Real Madrid could line up against Barcelona

Arda Guler is in line to start for Real Madrid in Sunday afternoon's La Liga clash with Barcelona.

The Turkey international was outstanding in the team's 3-2 success over Celta Vigo in Spain's top flight last weekend, scoring and providing an assist, and the expectation is that he will be in the starting side against the division leaders.

Rodrygo is likely to be back in the squad following an illness, but the Brazil international, who is currently being heavily linked with a move away from Bernabeu, may find himself among the substitutes for the first whistle.

Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and Eduardo Camavinga are all missing for the remainder of the campaign due to injuries, but Real Madrid have no fresh issues ahead of this clash.

Federico Valverde may feature at right-back, with Dani Ceballos and Luka Modric in line to operate in central midfield, as Aurelien Tchouameni will once again be required to operate in the middle of the defence.

Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe are certainties in the XI, and the latter will be bidding to secure a first victory over Barcelona as a Real Madrid player, while he is aiming to become the capital outfit's highest-ever goalscorer in a debut season.

Elsewhere, Fran Garcia is the team's only fit left-back, so the Spaniard is a certain starter, while Jude Bellingham will operate in a number 10 position for the capital giants, who are second in the La Liga table, four points behind leaders Barcelona.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Valverde, Asencio, Tchouameni, F Garcia; Ceballos, Modric; Guler, Bellingham, Vinicius; Mbappe
