Real Madrid defender Pepe will not be punished by the Spanish Soccer Federation for an alleged stamp on Lionel Messi's hand.

The Spanish Soccer Federation have confirmed that they will not be taking any action against Real Madrid defender Pepe.

The Portuguese defender appeared to deliberately stamp on Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi's hand during last week's El Clasico meeting in the Copa del Rey.

Pepe's let-off means that he is free to play in the return meeting between the Spanish rivals on Wednesday evening.

Barcelona currently hold a 2-1 advantage heading into the match.
