Iker Casillas is given a rest by Jose Mourinho for Real Madrid's meeting with Ajax.

Captain Iker Casillas will play no part in Real Madrid's Champions League clash with Ajax this evening.

The goalkeeper has been replaced between the posts by Adan, while the Spanish duo of Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso have also been rested for the encounter.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo does start and will partner Karim Benzema in attack.

Visiting Ajax, who need to win to confirm their place in the Europa League, have included Danish youngster Christian Eriksen in their starting lineup.

Real Madrid: Adan; Varane, Nacho, Carvalho, Coentrao; Modric, Khedira, Callejon, Kaka; Ronaldo, Benzema

Ajax: Vermeer; Moisander, Blind, Alderweireld, Van Rhijn; Poulsen, De Jong, Eriksen; Hoesen, Boerrigter, Fischer
