How Real Madrid could line up against RB Leipzig

Real Madrid will again be without the services of Karim Benzema and Eder Militao for Wednesday's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Benzema and Militao both picked up injuries against Celtic in Europe last week, which led to the duo missing out against Mallorca in La Liga at the weekend.

The pair will again be missing for this match, while Lucas Vazquez is also out due to the thigh issue that he suffered in a 4-1 victory over Mallorca last time out.

Alvaro Odriozola had been a doubt due the muscular issue that has sidelined him in recent weeks, but the reigning European champions have included him in the squad.

Eden Hazard started at centre-forward against Mallorca in Benzema's absence but found it difficult to impress, so there could be a spot through the middle for Rodrygo in this match.

Vinicius Junior is another certain starter in the final third of the field, while it is likely that Federico Valverde will be moved from central midfield to the right of the front three.

Dani Carvajal, Aurelien Tchouameni and Luka Modric should all return to the starting side from the weekend, while Antonio Rudiger will continue at the back in Militao's absence.

There had been some doubt over Thibaut Courtois's involvement against Mallorca due to a problem that he picked up in training, but the Belgian came through the league fixture without any issues and will again start between the sticks here.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Rudiger, Alaba, Mendy; Modric, Tchouameni, Kroos; Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius
