Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane "happy" with goalless draw

Zidane "happy" with goalless draw

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has claimed that he is "happy" with his team's 0-0 draw at Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, who failed to overcome a thigh problem, Real Madrid struggled to carve out chances at the Etihad as the pair played out a goalless draw ahead of the return at the Bernabeu next week.

"Before this game it was 50-50. I think it's still the same, 50-50. I am happy overall," Zidane told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman said that he is 'hopeful' of having Ronaldo and Karim Benzema - who limped off at half time - available for the second leg in the Spanish capital.

"We hope they can be better for the second leg. We have to take it day by day with the both of them," Zidane added.

Real Madrid will continue their La Liga challenge with a trip to Real Sociedad this weekend.
