Zidane: 'Draw difficult to accept'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed his disappointment after his team conceded a late equaliser in Tuesday's Champions League Group F clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Los Blancos led 2-1 in the latter stages in Germany after Raphael Varane had poked home from close range, but Andre Schurrle netted in the 87th minute as the points were shared in a 2-2 draw.

Zidane has hailed his players for their performance on the night, but admits that 'the result was difficult to accept'.

"The players played a great match, the result is a difficult one to accept because we deserved a bit more, but it is not a bad result," Zidane told UEFA.com.

"I think in the first half we suffered a bit because they pressed a lot and we knew it is a difficult place to come against a good team, but I am very proud of the game we played.

"It was complete in every sense but the shame is it is three games in a row now we have drawn. When you concede three minutes from the end it hurts, especially given the effort the players put in."

Real Madrid are still unbeaten in all competitions at the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
