Mourinho praises Madrid attack

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has hailed his side's attacking threat during the draw with Borussia Dortmund.

A late Mesut Ozil equaliser earned the La Liga champions a 2-2 draw having twice fallen behind at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Gonzalo Higuain was replaced just after half-time for Madrid, and Mourinho believes that his side attacked well despite missing a recognised centre-forward from the bench.

"We were behind in the game, we'd lost Gonzalo Higuaín and we didn't have any other forwards on the bench and we had to make a comeback," said Mourinho. "Callejon had an influence on that [fightback]. But I think the four strikers that finished the game did some great things looking for that goal.

"In my opinion Cristiano [Ronaldo] played a great match. Even if he has physical problems, he still plays. In the second half, without a real forward he played in other positions. For me he did a great job of finding space.

"In the first half we committed two big mistakes. When you play against great players and a great team, that is what happens. They kill you, they don't forgive you. We didn't recover loose balls in midfield and we kept the ball too long in certain areas. In the second half we played the exact opposite, we were aggressive and dynamic."

Madrid sit second in Group D behind leaders Dortmund.
