Benzema: 'World Cup is beautiful'

Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema has admitted that he would not be able to choose between winning the Champions League or the World Cup this year.

Los Blancos are among the favourites to claim a 10th European Cup this season, with Benzema arguably enjoying his best run of form since joining from Lyon.

However, the 26-year-old has insisted that winning a first World Cup for France since 1998 would rank alongside success with his club.

"I can't choose. They're both so important. They're both possible," Benzema told Marca.

"Club and country are very different. You work with one every day, but not with the other one. The World Cup is the most beautiful thing that can happen to a player. You must be on top form when it arrives."

Benzema has scored 18 times in 64 games for France.
