Raul Baena reveals improvement in Rayo Vallecano morale

Rayo Vallecano midfielder Raul Baena hopes that the team can record their second successive win against Almeria this weekend.

Rayo Vallecano midfielder Raul Baena has revealed that week eight's win over Real Sociedad has improved the atmosphere in the camp.

Despite the victory, the capital outfit remain in the relegation zone ahead of this weekend's La Liga clash with Almeria, who are currently bottom of the table.

However, Baena believes that another three points on Sunday would boost their chances of survival this season.

"Logically after a win the break becomes more enjoyable, we have trained more comfortably and more cheerfully. The victory has been good to strengthen us in the work we are doing to help us move on," he told reporters at a press conference.

"Winning two games in a row would be do well to strengthen us and to see that the negative dynamic has been broken outright.

"We are going to go game by game, we will not think about the objective of the other team, we will approach the game seriously and try to continue our progress with three points in Almeria."

Baena joined Rayo from Espanyol in the summer.
