Lee McCulloch: 'I had no nerves'

McCulloch: 'I had no nerves'

Rangers captain Lee McCulloch admitted he was thrilled when his stoppage-time penalty nestled in the East Fife net to give his side victory, but maintains that he wasn't nervous about taking the match-winning kick.

The ex-Wigan Athletic forward's goal gave the Light Blues three points after a subdued performance, but McCulloch points to the significance of the goal in the Gers' season.

He told Rangers.co.uk: "It felt great to see the penalty hit the back of the net. It takes us three points closer to the championship so I'm delighted.

"Some bits of our performance were not so good today, I think we were half a yard off it. I don't know if it was because it was our third game in a week but the boys seemed a little bit tired and we didn't have the edge we usually have."

Rangers can clinch the title if they win their next two games.
