Boyd sends out warning to rivals

Kris Boyd has urged his Rangers teammates to follow up yesterday's convincing 6-1 victory over Raith Rovers in their next match.

The 31-year-old striker bagged his first goal of the campaign in the straightforward Scottish Championship win at Ibrox, which keeps Ally McCoist's charges nine points behind leaders Hearts.

Next up for Rangers is a trip to face East Fife in the Petrofac Training Cup on Tuesday night, and Boyd insists that his side will not take their foot off the gas despite the weakened calibre of their opponents.

"At this club you cannot separate leagues and cups - you have to win every single thing you enter," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"So we've got another great opportunity on Tuesday night to put on a performance. We scored a few goals against Raith and will look to do the same against East Fife.

"It will be a hard game but if we go out with the same attitude we did on Saturday I don't see any reason why we can't win it convincingly as well."

The Gers reached the final of the competition last season, where they lost to Raith in extra time at Easter Road.
