Report: Spurs ponder matching Remy clause

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly reignite their interest in Loic Remy if Queens Park Rangers' potential relegation from the Premier League triggers a release clause in his contract.

White Hart Lane had regularly been mooted as a potential destination for the Frenchman before he left Marseille to join the Hoops in January.

He has since netted five goals in seven starts at Loftus Road, but that form could prevent Rangers, who are seven points adrift of safety, from dropping into the Championship.

Should QPR fail to maintain their top-flight status, Remy would apparently be available for £8m, a price that Spurs would be willing to meet, according to The Guardian.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is thought to be seeking forward reinforcements in the summer and has also been linked with a move for Aston Villa's Christian Benteke.
