The 20-year-old moved to Loftus Road in March after having his previous contract cancelled by Blackburn Rovers.
He is yet to play for QPR's first team and, according to Sky Sports News, the Hoops have agreed to send him to the Memorial Stadium on loan when the January transfer window opens.
Hitchcock made eight League Two appearances for Plymouth Argyle during a loan spell in 2011.
